The Mgr IT Quality Assurance is responsible for conducting a wide range of quality control tests and analyses to ensure software meets or exceeds specified standards and end-user requirements. Oversees testing for a large group of applications as the domain expert. Writes test conditions and scripts for system and integration test phases. Participates in the preparation of Operational Acceptance Test (OAT) and Basic Acceptance Test (BAT) phases. Interprets internal and/or external business issues and recommends solutions and best practices. Solves complex problems and takes a broad perspective to identify solutions. Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations.



  • Creates strategies and testing best practices related to entire domain applications.
  • Accountable for all testing projects within the assigned domain.
  • Oversees other testing specialties, included, but not limited to, regression, automation, and mobility.
  • Drafts, revises and approves test plans and scripts to ensure alignment with standards and organizational strategies; creates and executes test conditions, workbooks and scripts, including automated scripts.
  • Creates test data files to be used to test program logic and verify system flow; analyzes and considers functional/technical specifications.
  • Analyzes new functionality delivered through new applications, new interfaces and/or new infrastructures and executes test workbooks and documents results.
  • Ensures system tests are successfully completed and documented and all problems are resolved; accountable for re-testing and regression testing.
  • Communicates and documents defects in tools.
  • Participates in and supports OAT and BAT phases as needed.
  • Reviews test workbooks and automated test scripts created by peers.
  • Utilizes testing tools to document business requirements, test conditions and related issues.
  • Works with and coordinates with off-shore resources to facilitate test planning and execution.
  • Manage off-shore vendor, establish SOW, cost and timeline, for individual project testing.
  • Mentors, coaches and provides guidance to less experienced team members.
  • Collaborates with Project managers and other QA leads to manage resource scheduling.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.




Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or a related field with a minimum of eight (8) years of related software/application quality assurance testing experience; or equivalent combination of post high school education and experience.

Previous experience working in a global organization is highly desirable.


  • Skilled in communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to proactively establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to be a strong team player.
  • Ability to act accordingly under strong pressure, along with the ability to effectively manage crisis situations.
  • Ability to evaluate information, identify key issues and formulate conclusions based on sound, practical judgment, experience and common sense.
  • Ability to develop, improve and/or streamline processes to meet established goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to apply best standards and practices in software development quality assurance testing methodologies including, but not limited to mobile, security, automation and/or performance testing.
  • Expert level knowledge of and ability to apply best standards and practices utilizing functional and administrative features of test management tools.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including SQL, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
