  • Overview


    The Senior Business Analyst leads the design, development, and execution of new financial systems and upgrades to current financial systems. Serves as a financial or accounting systems subject matter expert, providing guidance and structure during all phases of new application implementation and major upgrades. Seeks out the best ways to improve processes in accounting and increase effectiveness through technology, strategy, analytics and solutions. The senior analyst works to bridge gaps among departments or processes with improved technical efficiency and productivity, bringing an expert level of understanding in accounting or financial reporting/analysis to the work performed.



    • Oversees the assessments and analyses of finance and accounting work processes, systems, and procedures.
    • Applies technical and operational expertise to support the design, development, and implementation of new financial systems or changes to existing financial systems.
    • Provides the specification of technologies, application architectures and data structures as a basis for design and customization.
    • Identifies and analyzes accounting processes and procedures for process automation opportunities.
    • Designs and implements new technologies and/or processes to create operational accounting and reporting efficiencies.
    • Develops and communicates solutions for continuous process improvement.
    • Evaluates and coordinates testing of quarterly releases for areas of responsibility.
    • Assists with various accounting projects and reports on performance.
    • Works with external organizations and internal departments on project initiatives and various accounting issues.
    • Ensures designs and technical deliverables meet project objectives.
    • Presents comprehensive evaluations, proposals, and recommendations to leadership.
    • Provides overall guidance and structure during all phases of new application implementation and major upgrades.
    • Monitors the implementation of systems to ensure proper integration with other systems.
      Serves as escalation contact for resolving complex problems.
    • Works closely with technical team to ensure data integrity and the resolution of all data issues.
    • Conducts technical reviews of applications for all phases for quality assurance.
    • Acts as primary liaison for vendor relationship management.
    • Oversees the design of comprehensive functional and technical end-user training.
    • Coaches, trains, and oversees the work of newer colleagues.
    • Acts as functional administrator for Oracle Cloud Financials.
    • Leads and participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.



    Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or information technology plus minimum of five (5) years of related technical and/or business experience required. Project management, process improvement, and programming languages experience also required. Proven experience in positions requiring an understanding and practical application of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).


    • Skilled in communicating effectively, verbally and in writing.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with others at various levels within the organization.
    • Ability to gather, assemble, consolidate and analyze facts, draw conclusions and devise solutions.
    • Ability to identify and/or document existing and new processes as well as evaluate their effectiveness, develop improvements and/or recommend changes or alternatives.
    • Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices of finance and accounting.
    • Knowledge of and the ability to utilize and develop programming languages (e.g., VBA, SQL), concepts, practices, and procedures within the technology field.
    • Previous experience as functional administrator for finance applications (e.g., Hyperion Planning, Financial Close and Consolidations, Profitability and Cost Management)
    • Previous experience with data modeling from multiple sources.
    • Ability to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope.
    • Ability to proactively establish and maintain effective working relationships.
    • Ability to effectively influence others at various levels within the organization.
    • Ability to act accordingly under strong pressure, along with the ability to effectively manage crisis situations.
    • Ability to evaluate information, identify key issues and formulate conclusions based on sound, practical judgment, experience and common sense.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results-driven, team-oriented environment.
    • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
