  • Overview

    SUMMARY:

    The Director IT Procurement is responsible for developing a strategic approach to activities in the information technology procurement function. Works closely with legal, security and IT teams to negotiate opportunities for cost savings. In this leadership role, the successful candidate will direct the IT procurement team members and colleagues with procurement processes, change and updates to other procurement-related activities; develop and/or update procurement policies and procedures; and develop a centralized procurement program that will add value and efficiency to the organization.

    Responsibilities

    GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Builds strong executive level partnerships with internal stakeholders to support and/or identify opportunities for negotiated cost savings business impact.
    • Coordinates activities across the local and global IT organizations to effectively interact with IT professionals to execute agreed upon priorities.
    • Works with legal, security, and IT teams to negotiate favorable contracts, mitigating risk, while ensuring terms meet all laws, regulations, and Adecco standards.
    • Applies advanced sourcing methodologies to develop negotiating strategies that enable effective negotiations, vendor management and process improvement.
    • Conducts in-depth analysis on pricing, vendor stability, and proposals to ensure a fair, ethical, and level playing field.
    • Maintains knowledge of current IT trends, vendor capabilities and changes within the technology landscape for traditional and emerging solutions.
    • Develops and manages the life cycle of sourcing and RFX’s, supporting the full portfolio of technology related spend including SaaS, Services, Hardware, Software, Outsourcing, and Data Networking / Communications.
    • Manages regional IT procurement spent and activities of the Americas.
    • Prepares detailed, comprehensive savings analyses, implementation plans and final Contract Summary recommendation for management approval.
    • Conducts in-depth internal spend analyses and competitive market trend analyses to spot opportunities.
    • Assists in the Supplier Relationship Management function for measuring and managing supplier performance criteria for the acquisition of materials and services.
    • Supports all management and reporting requirements related to any information, data or reports required or requested by the Global Procurement Group
    • Establishes career development plans, training for direct reports and mentors and coaches in-line with human resources principles.
    • Conducts timely annual and interim performance evaluations and sets individual and team objectives to cultivate a culture of high performance and teamwork.
    • Assists in the Supplier Relationship Management function for measuring and managing supplier performance criteria for the acquisition of materials and services.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION & JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Procurement with exposure to negotiation and vendor management coupled with 3 years in IT Procurement and line management experience.

     

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    • Knowledge of Procurement and IT terminology a must.
    • Fluent in English.
    • Ability to proactively establish and maintain effective working relationships.
    • Strong experience negotiating highly complex technology agreements for SaaS, hardware, software, services, networking, communications, and enterprise solutions.
    • Ability to effectively navigate a complex global company structure with many stakeholders to make recommendations and see projects and initiatives through to successful implementation.
    • Ability to effectively manage projects that vary in nature and scope.
    • Ability to evaluate information, identify key issues and formulate conclusions based on sound, practical judgment, experience and common sense.
    • Knowledge of and the ability to apply sound leadership practices, including developing employees by inspiring, encouraging and providing constructive criticism to improve performance.
    • Ability to effectively influence others at various levels within the organization.
    • Ability to identify and resolve problems through recommending and implementing creative solutions.
    • Ability to focus on client needs with a commitment to quality and customer service.
    • Knowledge of and the ability to apply best practices and standards in procurement.
    • Knowledge of and the ability to negotiate and administer contracts, as well as the ability to execute contracts in compliance with organizational, laws, rules and regulations.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
    • Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
    • Ability to identify and resolve problems through recommending and implementing creative solutions.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
