    SUMMARY:

     

    The Sr Solution Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the effective delivery of solutions within North America. Collaborates with Production and Business Partner management to ensure internal client satisfaction. Identifies and understands business or client needs and requirements in order to effectively report to SDM senior management. Proposes designs and implements solutions to meet needs at a country level and ensures consistency. Supports existing local systems, owns all and assigned solutions, and ensure effective Application Life Cycle Management. Manages and reports on budgets and expenses.

    Responsibilities

    GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Manages resource capacity and manages the translation of business requirements from Business Partners into system requirements and solutions in line with organizational guidance.
    • Identifies opportunities for synergies across business requirements from all North American Business Partners; ensures consistency and synergies across solutions.
    • Manages development, project management, solution architecture, business/functional analysis, quality assurance and other related teams to ensure solutions are designed and built according to specifications and organizational standards.
    • Defines solutions according to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) as agreed with Business Partners; ensures SLAs are relevant, achievable and cost effective in delivery.
    • Considers future requirements for quality management, in addition to end-user feedback when making recommendations and performing responsibilities.
    • Defines and sets Operational Level Agreements (OLAs) as required to build and operate solutions; owns the continuous improvement of solutions.
    • Identifies and recommends vendors for the development and maintenance of solutions; reviews and validates vendor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
    • Accountable for the content and management of vendor contracts as related to the development and maintenance of information technology solutions.
    • Recommends roadmaps for future solutions and for the decommissioning of legacy systems.
    • Ensures solutions and underlying services are properly described in catalogues.
    • Proposes innovation and new technology to support business needs according to architecture standards.
    • Contributes to the development of business cases through the provision of solution options, indicative costs and work effort estimates; approves work effort estimates for key initiatives.
    • Evaluates end-user experience of a solution through satisfactions surveys and other methods; acts on solution improvement recommendations.
    • Liaises with senior SDM leadership to establish career development plans, training for direct reports and to obtain mentoring and coaching in-line with human resources principles.
    • Conducts timely annual and interim performance reviews and sets objectives to cultivate a culture of high performance.
    • Ensures that team(s) develops requisite level of customer and technical knowledge in order to effectively manage relations with internal clients.
    • Reports on project status as required and attends meetings as required.
    • Assists senior SDM leadership on sourcing options within assigned area of responsibility and in accordance with vendor management guidelines.
    • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION & JOB REQUIREMENTS:

     

    Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or a related field with a minimum of eight (8) years of managing the delivery of information technology solutions and leading application development initiatives; or equivalent combination of post high school education and experience. Willingness and ability to travel is required.

    Previous experience working in a global organization is highly desirable.

    • Ability to demonstrate expertise in applying best standards and practices in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
    • Knowledge of and the ability to apply sound leadership practices, including developing employees by inspiring, encouraging and providing constructive criticism to improve performance.
    • Knowledge of training methodologies and the ability to develop and deliver technical/operational training to various levels of employees.
    • Strong Knowledge of Payroll, HR Financials and Billing process

    • Experience managing large ERP systems with a preference for Peoplesof.

    • Knowledge of Oracle Financials Cloud preferred

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
