    The Compensation Specialist is responsible for operational day to day support to the compensation function within Human Resources. They provide administrative and reporting support for the design, development, implementation and communication of salaried and hourly compensation programs, including annual merit, short-term and long-term incentives, sales incentives, and executive compensation, across multiple assigned lines of business.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Participates in developing, implementing, maintaining and communicating compensation programs, plans and processes.
    • Generates various reports for internal human resources and/or compensation use, utilizing human resources information systems (HRIS), tools and related software. 
    • Maintains and updates compensation-related resources, including intranet websites.
    • Maintains file repositories for documents and other materials related to compensation, including, but not limited to, job descriptions, compensation plans, presentations, and workbooks.
    • Maintains compensation-related email accounts and researches and resolves routine issues. Escalates issues as necessary to ensure proper resolution.
    • Formats and updates job descriptions using identified company standards.
    • Reviews, approves and processes employee status changes and creates/maintains new and existing jobs within HRIS, files and databases.
    • Maintains compensation plan inventories and participation, in addition to coordinating the distribution of and assisting with tracking the status of plan acknowledgments and related documentation.
    • Reviews compensation plans for consistency and assists with compliance audits
    • Assists with compensation and salary administration-related projects.
    • Assists with the annual update of salary structures, including, but not limited to, providing administrative support for compensation surveys and/or special compensation studies.
    • Provides first level of support for human resources business partners (HRBP) on compensation-related matters.
    • Works closely with Payroll, HRIS, Onboarding, Finance and various other internal teams.
    • Participates in special projects as needed. Provides administrative support for other human resources functional areas as needed.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:


    Associate’s degree with a minimum of two (2) years of general business experience focusing on business administration, human resources or finance; or equivalent combination of post high school education and experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

     

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:

    • Skilled in communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
    • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments and projects
    • Ability to work with detailed information
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook 
    • Proficient with utilizing HRIS platforms, such as PeopleSoft
    • Ability to run queries and reports preferred
