The Adecco Group Counsel job is focused on providing counsel and support to business unit leaders regarding employment and compliance matter.   

Responsibilities

 Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the organization in matters including employment litigation including, Title VII, ADEA, ADAAA, FMLA, MHRA, EEOC charges, office actions, and employment discrimination.
  • Serving as legal subject matter experience in regard to state and federal employment and labor laws, company policies, directives and operating procedures including, but not limited to, discipline, performance management, reorganizations, leaves of absence, accommodations, wage and hour issues, terminations, affirmative action, compliance training, non-compete matters, contingent workforce issues, acquisitions, divestitures, and outsourcing agreements/initiatives/due diligence.
  • Consulting with and advises corporate departments and field operations on a wide range of legal issues.
  • Proactively identifying trends and gaps in processes and communicating as appropriate with the Legal leadership team.
  • Monitoring relevant legislation, and keeps corporate/division/field management apprised of relevant changes in the laws and their impact on operations.
  • Preparing memos, policy statements, and communications to ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws. 

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • A JD degree and member of the Florida bar.
  • Minimum 5 years legal experience practicing employment law.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience practicing within a corporate environment.
  • Related industry experience a plus (recruiting, staffing, BPO, etc).
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to all levels of management, staff and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively identify and research legal issues and propose appropriate courses of action.
