The Director of Operations participates in developing/coordinating the implementation of operations projects associated with delivery of staffing services, facilitates data gathering for re-engineering processes and conducts pilot tests of proposed work flow redesigns.  Coordinates office automation, participates in developing/executing system testing and training plans, and ensures the orderly transition to an automated environment.  Oversees the maintenance and continuous refinement of Staffing Services Quality Assurance and ISO registration.  Works under general direction.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Enables the development and implementation of state-of-the-art technologies by defining business rules for all major staffing function processes. 
  • Maps existing processes, performs work flow analyses and identifies opportunities to refine, develop, standardize and streamline business processes, remove non-value-adding activities and consolidate lower-value activities to improve operating efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Organizes cross-functional teams to conduct research and provides recommendations for operations improvement.  Develops and implements performance and productivity measurements. 
  • Coordinates refinements to Staffing Services' Quality Assurance System and ensures that associated documentation is updated as appropriate.
  • Manages the registration process for new ISO applications and directs the internal audit program to ensure compliance with Staffing Services' standards and procedures. 
  • Facilitates the installation of application systems by establishing project schedules and works with field and corporate representatives to achieve automation deliverables on time and within budget. 
  • Identifies training requirements associated with implementing new processes and systems.  Aligns appropriate resources to adequately prepare the field staff for changes in standards and operating procedures.
  • Performs all duties inherent in a managerial role.

 

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:

  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE & OTHER POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent required. 
  • A minimum of three years staffing industry experience including one year in a project implementation role generally required. 
  • Strong knowledge of the Staffing Services operating environment, processes, standards and procedures and ISO registration requirements, and a working knowledge of process mapping, Lotus Notes and E-Mail applications required. 
  • Solid project management and communication skills also required.
